CRACOW OPEN 2026 – Appreciation

On behalf of the Board of the ZSD, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all our guests—friends and fellow shooters—who, despite the rain and cold weather, accepted our invitation and joined us for the 22nd edition of our most important and longest-running event: IPSC Cracow Open 2026.

It is truly gratifying to see that, even after so many years, we are still surrounded by a strong community of friends who remember the early days of 2004–2005, when at one of the most remarkable shooting ranges at Fort No. 45 in Zielonki, we were setting the direction for the development of this sport in Poland. Without you—your presence and participation in our matches—this unique competitive spirit and atmosphere that define our events would not exist. Thank you for being part of it.

This event would not have been possible without six days of hard work under exceptionally harsh weather conditions by a dedicated team of experienced stage builders: Witek Rumian, Paweł Mongard, his wife Dorota, and Jacek Lipka, all working under the supervision of Match Director Mateusz Śliwa. The infrastructure and engaging stage designs were prepared by the II Match Director of Cracow Open 2026, Adam Włoczewski.

All of this was carried out under the guidance and full professional support of Range Master Darek “Czecze” Dąbrowski, along with the continuous oversight of the match Technical Delegate, Zbyszek Kubicz.

The smooth and safe execution of the match was made possible thanks to the team of 57 of the Region’s most experienced Range Officers. I would like to express my special appreciation for their dedication and commitment, working long hours in rain and near-zero temperatures.

Special thanks go to our medic, Przemysław Blicharski, whose constant presence and readiness ensured the safety of all participants throughout the event.

Ensuring that nearly 300 shooters completed the match within the official time and without incidents—something not easily achieved in this sport—is entirely thanks to your professionalism and commitment.

As every year, I would also like to extend special thanks to our youngest team member, Ada, whose help and support we can always rely on.

My sincere appreciation goes to Asia and Aleksander for their consistently professional and flawless management of the match office, fast scoring, and prompt publication of results shortly after the competition.

Once again, we should collectively thank our sponsors for their presence and support, which greatly enhanced the much-anticipated final stage of the match.

Special recognition is also due to our friend Zbyszek Kaletka for carrying out extensive renovation work at the turn of the year, including fencing repairs, drainage improvements, and organizing the range surroundings. We also appreciate the opportunity to host the annual training session conducted by Robert Miklaszewski, with the participation of multiple-time Polish Pistol Champion and IPSC European Vice Champion Marcin Tausiewicz—an event that continues to grow in popularity each year.

Best regards,
